PS3838 makes two-factor authentication mandatory

In early September 2026, PS3838 began requiring two-factor authentication for all accounts.

After entering a username and password, users must now confirm the login with a one-time password, or OTP.

How to set up 2FA

After signing in, PS3838 displays a QR code. Scan it with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or another compatible application.

The app will generate a six-digit code. Enter it in the PS3838 activation window to complete the setup.

PS3838 will request a new one-time code alongside the username and password on subsequent logins.

Trusted Device

PS3838 has also added Trusted Device, allowing users to avoid entering an OTP every time they sign in.

Once enabled, the platform remembers the device and does not request a one-time code on every subsequent login. An OTP will still be required when signing in from another device.

Changing or resetting the password removes the device’s trusted status, so the option must then be enabled again.

Trusted Device makes regular logins easier, but it does not replace the authenticator app. Keep access to it, as a code may be required on a new device or during reauthentication.

What to keep in mind

The initial 2FA setup requires manual confirmation.

Before changing phones, transfer the authenticator data to the new device. A trusted browser makes signing in more convenient, but it should not be the only way to retain access to the account.
