Pinnacle offers its data to prediction market participants

Pinnacle has added a dedicated section to its API page: API For Prediction Markets. It targets companies and traders buying and selling sports contracts on prediction markets.

This is not the launch of its own exchange. The company offers its sportsbook odds as a data source for evaluating prices and trading on other platforms.

What is on offer

Pinnacle asks applicants to specify their exchanges, required sports and markets, other data sources, operating country, latency requirements and expected monthly trading turnover.

Access comes with individually negotiated commercial terms. Pricing depends on the speed and breadth of data access; the page does not announce specific exchange partnerships. Pinnacle API.

Why a trader needs sportsbook odds

Suppose a contract pays one dollar if a team wins. A trader needs to assess how much to pay for it now. Pinnacle’s odds can provide a probability benchmark against which to compare the contract price.

A market maker uses that data to set buy and sell orders. When the assessment changes, they adjust their quotes to avoid continuing to trade at an outdated price.

But odds cannot be copied mechanically. Margin, fees and settlement-rule differences matter: for example, whether overtime counts and what happens if a match is cancelled.

How Pinnacle may differ from other providers

Ready-made odds providers already exist. Sportradar, for example, supplies not only pricing data but also trading and risk-management tools. Selling odds is not itself the novelty. Sportradar MTS.

Pinnacle’s potential value lies in where the price comes from: a bookmaker that accepts bets and takes financial risk itself. Its prices are tested with real money rather than remaining just a model’s output.

That supports using it as a benchmark, but does not prove superiority over other data sources. Price quality, latency, coverage and cost need comparison in specific markets.

How this relates to API restrictions

In March, PS3838 ended automatic API access for new accounts and introduced deposit and turnover requirements. Those conditions are covered in a separate article. These are PS3838’s rules, not the terms of direct commercial access to Pinnacle.

In my view, a broader commercial logic is visible here: odds have value not only for betting with the bookmaker but also as a standalone product for trading elsewhere.

However, there is no basis to claim the March restrictions were introduced specifically for this new commercial offering. The sequence of events does not establish a causal link.

Data resale is a separate issue

On September 9, 2026, Gambling911 published a statement signed by the Pinnacle team. The company reported unauthorised data use, stated that it has no authorised data resellers and said it would strengthen enforcement of its rights. Pinnacle’s statement.

For buyers, that is an important distinction: being able to obtain odds does not itself grant the right to resell them or supply them to third parties.

Conclusions

Pinnacle is making its odds a distinct commercial offering for prediction market participants. Their potential value lies in prices at which the bookmaker itself accepts risk.

But a good data source does not guarantee profit. It helps evaluate contracts; decisions about trades, liquidity and acceptable risk remain with the trader.
